Cameron Nicholson

Cameron graduated from Niagara College in April 2020 with a three-year Photonics Engineering Technology diploma. His education provided hands-on experience with AutoCAD and Fusion 360 for technical drawings, Multisim for electronic circuit design, and laser alignment techniques.

With three years of experience at L3Harris Wescam, Cameron worked on a manufacturing shop floor, assembling and testing electro-optic systems, performing boresighting and optical alignment of camera heads, lens configurations, and laser systems. He gained experience working with high-power lasers and interlocking systems, troubleshooting non-conformances, and maintaining optical components. His role also included peer-checking fellow technicians' work, training new technicians, and utilizing a variety of lab equipment such as optical power meters, integration spheres, oscilloscopes, function generators, and Q-switches. Additionally, he served as a 5S+1 auditor, ensuring workplace organization and efficiency.

At Destiny Copper, Cameron works on the production plant, conducting various chemistry experiments and maintaining detailed lab notes. He also designs and 3D prints custom tooling, equipment, and lab-scale reactors, while handling shipping and logistics to support facility operations.
