Greg Hanna

Greg Hanna is an award winning serial entrepreneur who has founded and exited several businesses over the past 25 years. He has extensive experience in creating companies and leading teams to operationalize and commercialize new clean technologies. Greg has demonstrated a capability of working with global partners to structure joint ventures and raise funds to create profitable companies delivering requisite returns to investors, including partnerships with global institutional investors such as Barclays Capital (UK), Hannover Re (Germany) and Coronation Capital (South Africa). Greg has a passion to lead cleantech companies that have the ability to make a significant difference to humanity.

An early example was when Greg founded Hanna Africa in his twenties, and was able to secure significant contracts from the Walt Disney Company, Target Stores and Alfred Dunhill. The resulting orders created hundreds of rural jobs in Africa for talented crafts people and furniture manufacturers. He then sold 32,5% of the company to Hannover Re (world's 3rd largest reinsurer) in a private equity transaction to fund the explosive growth.

As Founder and CEO of Destiny Copper, Greg leads a team of innovators in the extraction of sustainably produced copper and copper powder. Destiny has a patented clean technology that produces high purity copper and copper powder using almost zero energy. Chemistry is replacing energy in the extraction of copper thereby producing copper at a 90% more environmentally sustainable manner than both the incumbent copper extraction technologies such as: SX-EW and Smelting.
